Hospital / Surgical Insurance |
These plans provide a limited benefits schedule of coverage in which they pay a predetermined amount of money for a particular procedure and do not feature a “stop-loss.” These plans often reimburse at an 80/20 rate and never revert to 100% coverage. Hospital-Surgical Plans Do Have Some Advantages in Certain Situations. People with pre-existing conditions, which makes them difficult to insure with traditional individual policies, can benefit from this type of coverage. Additionally, people who are smokers or have height and weight issues can benefit from defined benefit plans because these plans do not typically increase rates for these issues as traditional plans will do. | |
